FAQs

What podiatry services do you provide to care home residents?

We offer comprehensive foot care including nail cutting, corn and callus removal, diabetic foot checks, management of thickened or fungal nails, wound care advice, and general foot health assessments.

Our podiatrists visit care homes directly, providing all care on-site for residents’ comfort and convenience.

Visits are scheduled regularly, typically every 6–8 weeks, but can be adjusted to meet each home’s or resident’s needs.

Yes, all our podiatrists are HCPC-registered (Health and Care Professions Council) and fully insured to provide clinical foot care.

Absolutely. Our podiatrists are trained in diabetic foot care, vascular assessments, and managing high-risk feet safely and effectively.

Foot health is often something that gets forgotten about and harder to look after ourselves the older we get. The role of a Podiatrist is a specialist healthcare professional who diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent foot and lower limb conditions. Unfortunately, the staff within the care home are unable to offer the above.

Some residents are eligible for NHS treatments and these residents are more likely to be considered high risk patients. The timeframe between these appointments can also vary significantly.

Not at all. We can provide treatment to diabetic patients but will be charged.

Yes, some of our patients tend to be seen by the NHS podiatrist every 12-14 weeks and therefore we would try to see them halfway between those visits.

Depending on the facilities available we’d either use a dedicated treatment room or in the privacy of the residents own room.

That’s fine we don’t expect anyone to feel pressured into using us, but we’ll hopefully be visiting the care home on a regular basis so should you ever change your mind we’d be more than happy to add you to our patient list.

How can a care home arrange a visit?

Simply contact us by phone or email to schedule a visit. We’ll coordinate with the home’s management team to set up convenient days.

Yes. Family members can contact us directly with consent from the resident or their legal representative.

No GP referral isn’t required. However, we do liaise with healthcare professionals when necessary to ensure continuity of care.

Routine appointments last around 15–30 minutes, depending on the level of care required.

Yes, we can arrange urgent visits for issues such as infections, ingrown toenails, or sudden pain. Also for new residents or residents that may have missed our last visit.

Unfortunately, illness happens all the time. If the care home has some kind of outbreak we will stay in touch with the care home so that once they’re out of outbreak we can arrange another visit. If the Podiatrist has to cancel then we will do our best to offer an alternative podiatrist to visit or rearrange our visit ASAP.

What are your fees for care home visits?

Our pricing is transparent and competitive. Fees vary slightly depending on the number of residents seen and the type of service provided—please contact us for a tailored quote.

This depends on each home’s arrangement. However, we send the invoice to the care home directly for them to arrange payment.

Yes, all visits are fully documented and invoiced for clear record-keeping.

Yes, we offer flexible payment options including bank transfer and invoicing to care homes or families.

How do you ensure infection control during visits?

We follow strict infection prevention protocols, including full sterilisation of instruments, PPE use, and compliance with current healthcare standards.

Our podiatrists bring all necessary sterilised instruments and equipment, ensuring a professional clinical setup on-site.

Yes, we maintain confidential clinical records in line with GDPR and HCPC regulations, and share relevant information with the home’s care team.

Will the same podiatrist visit each time?

Wherever possible, we ensure the same podiatrist attends regularly to maintain consistency and build trust with residents.

Yes, we can provide written updates or reports upon request, especially for residents with ongoing or complex foot health needs.

We specialise in care home podiatry—combining clinical excellence with compassion. Our team focuses on improving comfort, mobility, and quality of life for every resident we care for.
